Happy Birthday Urban!

It was my friend's little boy's 3rd birthday today and I knew he'd love a card with his name on it.

I got my little one on board again to help cut some letters using the Big Shot and my Timeless Type alphabet dies. We used patterned paper from the Just Add Cake set.

The layout is based on the sketch from this week's Feeling Sketchy Challenge - week #7.

The image is a cute digistamp from Pink Cat Studio which I've coloured with my promarkers. I added some faux stitching (I can't stop using it at the moment!) with a red marker and added black dots at the ends of each 'stitch' to make it more convincing.

As well as the Feeling Sketchy challenge, I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:-

Lollipop Crafts Challenge # 80 - Just for Him
Allsorts Challenge Week 154 - Card for a Man or a Boy

Mum's the Word

Here is the Mother's Day card I made for my Mum using paper from the lovely Cheerful Treat DSP. I don't think there's a single design in this pack that I don't like, which is a bit awkward because it means I struggle to decide which side of the paper to use. Good job there are two of each design in a pack eh? ;)

I cut out heart shapes from the patterned paper and stuck them onto Concord Crush CS. I then ran the panel through the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder.  I stuck this onto a piece of Pool Party CS - I seriously NEED some more of this colour. I didn't think I used much blue until this colour came out! I then added the word Mum, cut using my Timeless Type Alphabet dies and run through the lattice embossing folder, and popped the whole lot onto a summery Melon Mambo base card. The ribbon was from my stash.

As well as a lovely card from my little girl for Mother's Day I also received a gorgeous card and bouquet of flowers from my wonderful Sister. I was so touched and I feel very lucky to have such a lovely Sister. I her a thank you card using one of my favourite stamp 'characters, Nikki from Ladybug Crafts Ink. To tie in with the bouquet, I used 'Flower For You Nikki!.

Once again, I chose paper from the Cheerful Treat set and, as it's quite a busy design, I chose to keep everything else simple. Therefore, I just added some colour to the image with my Lucky Limeade marker (so a perfect match with the paper!) and cut it out using a frame die and my Big Shot.

Card catch up.

Here's a brief rundown of some of the cards I've made this month. I'm holding one back until next month so as not to spoil the surprise for the recipient.

First up is a card for a friend's little girl who turned 2 this month...

I particularly enjoyed the paper piecing on this one and I love how the rainbow came out.

This is a thank you card for a friend who lent an ear when I really needed it. I coloured the Hero Arts stamp with my Stampin' Up markers and blended the tail with water. The patterned paper is from Domestic Goddess SU set, which matches perfectly with the Calypso Coral cardstock.

Finally, two cards for twins who turned 3 this month. I really wanted to make them a card each, and make each card personalised, as I would imagine it's hard to have a real sense of identity when you're a twin.

A similar layout to the earlier card, but this time I've used papers from the Just Add Cake DSP from Stampin' Up! The letters are created using the Timeless Type alphabet dies (also from SU). I also added a little educational element to each card by making one of the animals on each card the 'wrong' colour and asking inside which one it is. Can you spot them?
