Back in town

I've just come back from a wonderful family holiday down in Cornwall and I'm itching to get crafting again. In hindsight I should've taken some crafting bits with me, (in fact the clear stamp sets would've been perfect cos they're in a DVD size case) but I didn't :(

I've got several friends' birthdays to make cards for next month and of course it's Father's Day on 19th June (in the UK).

The first ever Papercraft Session takes place on 2nd June and it's not too late to book a place. There are only 4 places left though so be quick! I will be taking bookings up until 6pm on the 1st June, but as I'll need to prepare the materials for the class I regret I can't take bookings for the 2nd June class after that. Of course, you're more than welcome to book a place on the following Papercraft Session on 16th June, and there are currently 7 places available on that session.

As always, you can book via e-mail  or call me on 0757 848 6669.

Happy crafting!

Playtime!

This weekend has been the first proper chance I've had to have a play with all my new Stampin' Up! goodies and boy what fun I've had!

First of all I have to mention two items that have become my new 'stamping' best friends - the Stampin' Scrub and the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig.

Neither of them are particularly exciting to look at. They don't jump out of the catalogue at you shouting 'Buy Me!' like some of the stamp sets do. However, between them they've changed my crafting life, no word of a lie...yes, I really AM that sad! ;D

Anyone who knows me is fully aware of how much I hate cleaning. I am also a messy crafter. These two factors together meant that 90% of the time I wouldn't clean my stamps after I'd used them....until I got a Stampin' Scrub.

I'd considered buying it months ago but thought I'd be 'clever' and buy a cheaper alternative. Well, that 'clever' idea just wasted £9 and left me feeling frustrated when it didn't clean the stamps fully, or left them wet so I had to find kitchen towel to dry them off. Because the Stampin' Scrub has a 'wet' side, which you spritz with Stampin' Mist, for cleaning and a dry side for, well, drying, you don't get that problem. I'd even go as far as to say it actually makes cleaning stamps fun! So much so that I had a mass cleaning session yesterday, digging out all the poor stamps that hadn't been cleaned in ages and making them look new again. It worked even on ink that had been dried on for months. Definitely my No.1 hero product and I'll be singing it's praises to anyone who'll listen :)

As for the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig (SAMJ), well, what can I say? It's a device that allows you to select exactly where you want to stamp your image. Have you ever spent ages on a card or project only to misjudge the placement of crucial stamp? Suddenly, all that's noticeable is that wonky stamped image and the beauty of the rest of your card is ruined. This is the sort of thing I mean...

Sucks huh? But now I've got a SAMJ I don't have to worry about that any more. Have you ever tried Two Step Stamping? It's almost impossible without a SAMJ :( There's a really cute stamp set in the SU! Mini called 'Baby Blossoms' that uses two-step stamping and I'm really chuffed that I'm going to be able to use it properly now. Little tools like these make me happy :D

Sweet Treats class - 2nd June 2011 *book now*

Got a sweet tooth? There are all sorts of sweet treats in store for anyone attending the first Papercraft Session on 2nd June!

We'll be using the 'Something Sweet' stamp set and 'Sweet Treat Cups' to make a birthday card filled with jelly beans. The card has a secret door so that you can get to the sweets without having to ruin the card in the process.
Apologies for the poor photo, I've been having some technical issues I'm afraid. Hopefully my future pics will be much sharper than this.

As well as the card, we'll also be making a yummy gift bag filled with hot chocolate sachets and mini marshmallows. Is your mouth watering yet? ;)

My 'Sweet Treats' session takes place on 2nd June and there are just 5 places left so don't miss out, e-mail me or call me on 0757 848 6669 to book your place.

A sneak peek at a Sweet Treat...

I promised a little sneaky peek at what was in store for the first Papercraft Session so here it is...

Yes it really is a tiny peek but I promise to show you the whole card tomorrow ;)

Blissful Birthday

I've been a busy bunny today. As well as doing lots of planning for my first class (sneeky peek to follow later today), I made a birthday card for my Mother-in-Law using the Stampin' Up! stamp set 'Bliss'.

Bliss was one of the exclusive stamp sets that were available during Sale-A-Bration earlier this year. I really love the butterfly in this set as it's so easy to make it look like it's about to flutter away! The sentiment is from another SAB set, So Happy For You, and the frame surrounding the sentiment is from the amazing 'Baby Blossoms' set - which you can purchase from the Mini catalogue until the end of September.

What do you think of those colours? The aubergine is one of my favourite SU! shades, Elegant Eggplant. See how I've managed to make white to show up, even on such a dark colour?.. I'll let you into a secret - Whisper White Craft Inkpad from Stampin' Up! It's amazing stuff and it was the very first thing I bought when I discovered SU! products. I've also used Regal Rose and Rose Red cardstock.

Don't feel like venturing out?...

...then let The Papercraft Sessions come to you! As well as the regular classes I'm also offering a 'mobile workshop' service. All you need to do is invite some friends round, get the vino/fizzy pop flowing and let me do the rest - what could be simpler?

Book a mobile workshop and I will put together a 'Make and Take' project so that you and your guests can play with some of the fab Stampin' Up! products in the comfort of your own home (or chosen venue). I'll show you the best way to get the most out of your Stampin' Up! products and demonstrate how to create unique cards and gifts using the SU! range.

Anyone hosting a mobile workshop qualifies for a free Hostess gift. Hostesses earn free products and can choose an exclusive 'Hostess Only' stamp set, if their workshop generates more than £150 of orders. Once you see the range of quality products available you'll realise just how achievable that is!

It's an ideal way to catch up with friends, have a laugh and get creative. Call me on 0757 848 6669 or e-mail me to book your workshop now.
