Mum's the Word

Here is the Mother's Day card I made for my Mum using paper from the lovely Cheerful Treat DSP. I don't think there's a single design in this pack that I don't like, which is a bit awkward because it means I struggle to decide which side of the paper to use. Good job there are two of each design in a pack eh? ;)

I cut out heart shapes from the patterned paper and stuck them onto Concord Crush CS. I then ran the panel through the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder.  I stuck this onto a piece of Pool Party CS - I seriously NEED some more of this colour. I didn't think I used much blue until this colour came out! I then added the word Mum, cut using my Timeless Type Alphabet dies and run through the lattice embossing folder, and popped the whole lot onto a summery Melon Mambo base card. The ribbon was from my stash.

As well as a lovely card from my little girl for Mother's Day I also received a gorgeous card and bouquet of flowers from my wonderful Sister. I was so touched and I feel very lucky to have such a lovely Sister. I her a thank you card using one of my favourite stamp 'characters, Nikki from Ladybug Crafts Ink. To tie in with the bouquet, I used 'Flower For You Nikki!.

Once again, I chose paper from the Cheerful Treat set and, as it's quite a busy design, I chose to keep everything else simple. Therefore, I just added some colour to the image with my Lucky Limeade marker (so a perfect match with the paper!) and cut it out using a frame die and my Big Shot.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #153

Isn't this cupcake just gorgeous?

It's the inspiration for this week's challenge down at Cupcake Inspirations.

I've used a digi image from Pink Cat Studio and paper pieced it (using DSP from Stampin' Up's Cheerful Treat set and red from my stash) to create a cute home for Numtum No.3 (the little critter standing outside). I've added a super sparkly 3 to make it extra blingy for the birthday girl.

So many thanks!

It was my Daughter's 3rd Birthday last week and she received so many presents that I've still not finished making and writing the thank you cards! Fortunately I only have one left to do so nearly done.

Here's a quick view of some of the cards I've made.

These were all made using Papertrey Ink's Framed Out #1 stamp set and die, and the vine border die. I've used various patterned papers from my stash.

These cards use a sentiment from PTI's Think Big range and their Limitless Layers oval die which I love. The patterned papers are all from Stampin' Up! (Top left/bottom right = Spice Cake, Top right = Domestic Goddess and Bottom left = Cheerful Treat). I've finished some of them off with SU's Scallop Dots ribbon and Satin ribbon. Simple but effective!

Fabulous 40!

Now that my Sister's birthday has passed, I can show off the card I made for her. She loves flocked paper so the Mocha Morning Speciality paper from Stampin' Up was perfect! I also used one of the papers from the Cheerful Treat Hostess set to paper piece the scarf and provide a matting layer. No 40th card would be complete without a bit of bling so I added plenty of rhinestones to sparkle.

Sweet Stop Sketch challenge #140

Another thank you card, this time based on the awesome sketch provided for the Sweet Stop Sketch challenge #140.

I've used my new Stampin' Up! papers; the stripes are from the Hostess set, 'Cheerful Treat' and the blue floral paper is from my current favourite, the 'Spice Cake' DSP.

The colour combo is courtesy of the Simply Stampin Challenge #41, which I was going to enter but then realised I hadn't used a Stampin' Up! image or sentiment - d'oh! I had to use this stamp though cos it reminded me of my Daughter playing with her new crayons.
